Shooting star.

The Red Aspens by Jennifer Thomas

Deep breaths. Steady heartbeats. Soothing melody.
All I need for this perfect night to end is just a little more surprise
,

Talk about surprise, it really takes you in a night flight across heaven's park

.

Taiko Masala, the Japanese Drum Festival. It was really out of pure reluctance, deep contemplation before I finally made the decision, which turned out to be incredible.

My first time seeing the Seaweed Suckers perform and I was blown away by their professionalism.
What do you look for in a band performance? Who do you usually pay attention to?
Many people's reply would be the vocalist, the guitarist, the bassist. However, how many actually pays attention to the drum player?
I try to be a non-conformist whenever possible. In this case, I paid most attention to the drum player, who was partially or wholly blocked by the lead singer most of the time. I have seen many drum players and some of them really did not take their role seriously, thinking that they are sitting at the back of the stage behind the scenes, not noticeable.
This guy, he was different. You could tell that he loved his role in this band. You could tell that he knew that he was the backbone of the band. You could tell that he knew what he was doing.
He was marvelous in performance, entertaining and especially cool whenever he does finger tricks with the drum sticks.
The rest of the band members were extremely professional in what they do, delivering a very strong, powerful and energetic performance. They were very interactive throughout their performance and I was really impressed.

When it comes to the main performance from Taiko Masala, I loved the power and passion in their every move. Their interaction with the audiences was remarkable. Watching their performance had driven an invisible force in me that drives my urge to pick up taiko drums as well.

.

Was setting up the tripod and the camera while waiting for the fireworks to come on, I experienced one of the happiest moments in my life.
A pleasant surprise that was.
Unexpected, overwhelming, breathtaking, magnificent.
It was sheer magic.
Out of the blue, that comet appeared as a dazzling streak of bright light cuts through the sky and fades away at the corner of the horizon.
I was baffled, speechless and was on the verge of tearing to the sight of such a glorious moment.
People say that if you make a wish under a shooting star, your wish would come true.
The truth for me is, when I caught sight of that shooting star, that was my wish coming true. I couldn't ask for more. I am grateful. Exhilarated.
.

Shooting the fireworks this time was a completely different feeling for several reasons:

1. I have companions this time.
2. I have a tripod this time.
3. I was trying out new camera setting this time.
4. I came prepared this time.

Sure it is a whole trial and error thing, but the learning experience was awesome.
I believe have self-esteem issue with the photographs that I have taken, yet I am satisfied with the general outcome of today's photography outing.

Here's my personal favorite: Fireworks and two comets.

I love you.

Together - Ruben Studdard

this is a perfect song. perfect vocal. perfect song to drive the turbine of emotions. i get chills listening to this song every time without fail. i still wonder why doesn't he get famous after American Idol though
.

today, i realized, life can be so fragile. so vulnerable.
just two weeks back, my Critical Reading lecturer, Bryan, introduced me to this remarkable person, Wangari Maathai. at first, i was completely baffled by this new topic and this new person. she was introduced to me with such great impact that i was immediately impressed become envious of her achievements. she was the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for her contribution in sustainable development, democracy and peace. she was well known for her Green Belt Movement that aims to create a better environment for our future generation.
today, i was devastated. i was flabbergasted to the news of her death. i felt that i have not enough time, to embrace her presence on this earth, to accept the fact that i am sharing this planet with such a great person who came out with so many great master ideas, so powerful, rhetorical and influential in her personality. just as she came into this earth silently, she left quietly, bringing with her nothing else, instead leaving back with us a great legacy.
September 25th, 2011 is when the world will mourn for the departure of another great soul, someone who made changes to the world.

"We did not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, instead, we borrowed from our children."

Something to think about.
An event that i attended, the Peace and Justice Conference lead by the Poetree. It was really inspiring and touching. The two women from Brooklyn, how they showed and taught me things that i never was aware of, things that i took for granted, things that i neglected. they reached out and touched my heart through the words from the poems they recited. the words, so powerful and strong that made me cry.
Vy, the vietnamese girl who was sitting beside me, criticized me for crying at their poem. "such a cry baby." she said. at the back of my head, i was thinking "Just because you don't understand or appreciate the poems, doesn't mean that i should not as well." I really thought she was shallow that time. yet, i took pity on her for missing out on such a great thing. it meant so much to me and i believe, their words touched many others in the events they had before and will have in the near future, and many other people around the world they travelled to. it was really overwhelming. the pieces of scraps containing messages by people all around the world that they sewed together to form long strips of cloth. the messages, so powerful with different messages of people of different skin color, different backgrounds, no stereotyping, no discrimination, just plain unity, humanity, all aiming for the common goal. people are brought together just by the strong faith and believe in something. it was incredible.

Of course, i wrote a message as well, hoping to inspire another soul or many others with my words.
from the bottom of my heart;

signing out, proceeding with the work i have in hand,
love,

PAGE Zumbathon

Get Back (ASAP) - Alexandra Stan

Obviously, this was an on campus event. It happened yesterday night at 7pm at the ACC Ballroom. It was definitely a blast.
We had to purchase our rubber bracelet as our entrance fee from the sponsor group Alpha Sigma Phi at a minimum donation of $3 for keepsake and I have gotten me 4 beautiful glow sticks for $1 as well. It was a black light party Zumba style and the whole hall was like a club with loads of booty shaking, catchy music rhythm, zumba professionals leading on the stage, disco lights, cool DJ at the front. It was all good and fun. I had a damn good time, with the lights dimmed down, everyone just shaking their booties along with the rhythm, suddenly i wasn't quite self-conscious at all!!
This was a charity event of course. That was why I was willing to pay $3 for a rubber bracelet and everything else just to have fun and for the sake, in the name of charity. All the profits will benefit P.A.G.E. (Program for African Growth through Education), a non-profit group based in Plattsburgh. These funds will directly aid in the construction of schools and the purchase of school supplies in Burkina Faso, Africa.
I thought, why not spend a little money, a little time and have a whole loads of fun, meet awesome people, exercise for fitness, try out new thing, zumba, something i have not come across before yesterday. I was actually rather excited for this event! Despite having no one to accompany me to that event, i did not hesitate about attending it at all! I just went for it, alone. It is not what i usually do because i dislike being all alone and pathetic but it was a great experience. Little did i expect to see Sandu there. I wasn't close to her before, but we sort of got closer to each other just by attending that event. It was great!
Coming to the near end of the event, we had this Bollywood feel to the whole event where we did dance battle in groups and take it the zumba style. It was awesome. The whole time i was checking the watch for the time as i still had Stats homework due the next morning, but the urge to stay till the end was way stronger than going back to the dorm, all sad and unhealthy and pathetic to do my work. I would rather stay till the end, satisfied, confident and proud of myself for giving back to the community and dance like never before in public. That feeling was awesome. Well, the cliche saying would be 'work hard, play harder' and also another saying would be people who play hard are the most productive people around. Well, I couldn't agree with that more this time because I felt all hyped up for my work but crashed almost immediately after i finished it. It was as if i took an energy drink or something like the moment the energy drink stops putting effect, you just crashed like crazy immediately. I KO-ed, just relying on my own will power and the exercise i had in zumbathon. I have never felt anything better than I did after the event that night. I really loved it!
So, as i said, everything was conducted in the dark with glow sticks around everybody's wrists and necks and of course, UV lights around. It was really awesome. Those professionals can really shake their booties. I admit, it was my first day of period that day but i didn't care much. I just did what i had to do there, which is dance my heart out.

Here's a little picture taken by Sandu at the end of the event :)

See that glow sticks shining so brightly in the dark? Boo yeah!
That's my watch in another wrist. Yeah buddy!

Signing off feeling so tired, back to my best bed ever with my new memory foam and pillow, my comfy late night getaway where dreams are made of *:)
till the next time i update about tonight's event...

MTV World Stage 2011 cum Snowalk i-City

Don't Cry - Park Bom

bouncing on my chair along with the catchy beat of this song :)
.

I went shopping with the family on Friday night at The Gardens and mummy bought some stuff. Credits to MasterCard who gave away tickets to Snowalk i-City as well as to the MTV World Stage 2011. I was astonished when mummy passed the tickets to me. Never once I thought I would get the tickets to such a thing.
I personally was not really into things like this but since I have free tickets and manage to convince this great company to come with me, plus, out of curiosity, off i went!
i-City is rather easy to get to actually, with the help of the map at the back of the tickets. Went there using the Federal Highway and manage to get there with much ease. The big billboards they set up to lead to the parking spots were rather confusing though. Fortunately, there were 3 parking lots to choose from and we missed the first two that passed us :D so silly.
Reached there about 4 ish and the crowd was already building up despite the raging heat in the afternoon. Looking at those excited faces of the youngsters there, contrarily, my excitement was slowly dampened. Clearly, I am not such a big fan of crazy crowds.

The entire place was an utter turn off. With people pushing around trying to get closer to the stage and have a better look at the artists, with people puffing on cigarettes, which was obviously prohibited. What was worse was due to my height, all I breathe in was air exhaled by tall people, fanning myself only led to fanning hot and stale air to myself. It made me rather pissy and annoyed. It made me a bitch. So, I dragged my partners from the crowd close to the screen and the stage, back to where the air was more flowing and less crowd after the first band performed by Pop Shuvit, a local band. I would rather see everything from a screen, hear it live from afar, than seeing it in close distance, hear the echo of the beats pump in my heart and vibrate my shorts while suffocating myself to death.
Outside food and drinks were not allowed in the concert area. They just had to snatch everything away from me including the soya milk included in the gift bag from MasterCard. I felt like biting that Tomboy's head off lor seriously!! And the food and beverage prices sold in there are seriously sky high. Its called day-light robbery, or approved robbery in public! Ish so angry >:(
Plus, they sold the MTV shirts as well for RM49 per piece. While the booth beside it was selling the so called official merchandise of 30 Seconds to Mars; CD(RM40), t-shirts and tank tops (RM90/piece). The price was such a turn off, some more the person in charge was complaining about how they won't want to employ female salesgirl because they not aggressive enough. So sexist! *bitch slaps*
,

Anyways, Pop Shuvit really stood out and got the crowd working and jumping. A great start to the event. Even though the sun was still up and heating up the ground, they managed to heat up the crowd as well! Great work. And the Project EAR was awesome as well. They managed to hit way beyond my expectations of a local band and I was rather proud of their performance of that night.
Beast/B2st was rather okay. Since I wasn't a fan of 'em, I didn't really notice them but I guess they were okay. The dances was kinda quirky and awkward in a way. Not BAM enough to impress. But still, they managed to flatter all their hardcore fans. Not judging 'em.
Neon Trees was the third band to perform. Well, I can confidently tell you, drummers are those whom I find most attractive in a band. And Neon Trees caught me off guard with a female drummer! Wow. She totally rocked that drum set in such a controlled manner despite the crazy crowd out there and her crazy band mates while having fun in her bright red outfit! Sizzling fo' shiz. Plus, the lead singer I have no idea what his name was did a great job introducing each song he and the band was going to perform. Nice job. Overall, though I have no idea what the 4 out of 5 songs they performed, they were good. Almost like what you can hear in studio records. Animals, the only song I know, was performed well too! I like :)
30 Seconds to Mars was actually the highlight of this event, at least, to me. Yet, I was too tired of the thing going on plus, to avoid the crazy traffic after the concert ends, my partner and I decided to leave after Neon Trees
.

We checked out Snowalk using the tickets I got free as well. I checked online and found out its -5 degrees Celsius indoor. Yet, probably it was because I came from a very stuffy outdoor so putting on the winter jacket loaned from the place was more than sufficient. In fact, I can feel my body heat radiating from the inside of the jacket. Did not button up or zip my jacket for fear that i might die of heat. My nose mouth area was pretty numb though, not to mention my fingers too! :)
Played the two slide like games, one of which was on the snow and the other was on ice. Wasn't quite fun. The snow one was pretty giddy and the ice one was really causing pain in the ass :D
As expected, there were nothing in Snowalk but just a huge ass freezer with some ice carving and we were in it. Meh...

.

I-City is ridiculous actually. So lame with all the fake maple trees decorated with lights. They should make use of the space for better stuff like to build houses or whatever crap but this!! Hmm... Still, its a pretty good place for concerts lah, and to take pictures wtf. I do wonder who will go to this place in purpose for a day trip or anything. I wouldn't go back there I swear. Unless something comes up and the venue is there -.-

not focused :x

See CK stoning in the background. He damn stone the whole time. So funny lah :D

That's all for now. But before that, check out my polaroid photo captured by MasterCard :)
Could've gotten two shots but didn't know once I get in the concert area cannot go out :'(
And i was thinking of taking another one with my partner or just let him be in the spotlight :)

Oh well, the mango joke :P

Goodnight!
Love, peining *:)

Between The Lines - Sara Bereilles

Today was the MTV World Stage 2011 at i-city, Shah Alam. Woke up at 10am then headed out to the nearest Kayu Nasi Kandar for roti canai! Have to hard core right now since I'll be leaving the country so soon and no more roti canai for me for at least two years. Skipped lunch and dinner. Yao Zhar Guai for supper. I am superb.
Oh well, there were limited food choices at the concert area and they just had to snatch away the soya bean drink that comes along with the goodie bags by Mastercard. How evil!! Anyways, this is just a short preview before I actually post more about that event. It is kind of boring though as the performance line up was pretty sucky. Plus, i-city is bullshit. That creator of this damned place should probably sell umbrellas beside a street for the rest of his life.
I am tired though. So shall sleep after this. Overall, great night, great company, great experience (in a way), met some interesting people, great time spent. Am satisfied and happy.

a well-spent day shall lead to good dreams at night

Till the next post comes,

Hiatus. Oh well. Here's a lil bout ADP.

Manic Monday - Relient K

In blogging, many will always come to a point where they feel that blogging has become a task or a mandatory routine that is an unpleasant necessity. I'm pretty sure this is my... *looks at fingers and starts counting* I lost count of the times I have experienced this. But this is certainly a post that tells dear readers that it is back! This horrible, atrocious feeling. Its back to haunt again!
Lets have a moment of silence...

April 1st, 2011

Okay. Here's brief post about ADP Mixer cum ( <-- WTF??) HELP 25th Anniversary pool party.
It was held at Royal Commonwealth Club located at Batai, walking distance from HELP.
Basically, it was great. Met some freshies, kinda awkward to wanna talk to some of them cause they are simply too shy and... conversationless. Clicked very well with James though, since we bonded a lot during Calculus class. We're officially like buddies now.
I thought I dressed up for this pool party. Really. I felt pretty that night, albeit not wearing any bikini under my outfit like what the others did. Some accessories I kept away for a long time, plus a normal red spaghetti strap and a bondi blue pareo as skirt will do. :)
The food was okay as usual. Performances were awesome. Loving the breakdance, popping and all the contemporary and dope dance moves. Plus, the magic show cum ( <-- WTF?) stand up comedy, awesome entertainment by Bighead and Ian, the music lecturer. They are just natural, so raw like they are born to entertain.
After everything in the agenda, here comes the getting wet and wild part. They just had to fulfill the theme of the party. So majority of the people, not to mention girls, were forced down the pool. So instead of getting thrown into it, I willingly took off my pareo and strutted towards the pool. Just when I was about to jump in, someone (either Sanjeev or Bighead) gave me a push and splash, there I bid goodbye to my dry self within spilt seconds.
Was shivering with cold in the pool but still played kapten ball for a while before I retired to dry land. It was fun. Hmm... got hit at the bridge of my nose by Mayuri when something happened and she hurt her gladys. Again. I think it'll survive.
Rest of the night was pretty much okay, drenched, intoxicated.

That's all for now!

Living the Irish spirits.

It was the St. Patrick's day on Thursday. Hence, the American Eagle club organized a party for this special festival, held at HELP Residence.

The day started earlier than usual for me. Woke up without an alarm at 10. Unusual. Anyways, the event was great basically. Loved the couple Polo-T Amanda and Derrick were wearing. Mmmm...
At one point of the event though, I felt quite left out, and lonely.
Food was rather okay. Surprisingly, I got lucky and won lucky draw again. It was scented candles this time round. I was ecstatic. Really. Since young, I somehow don't possess the necessary luck to be winning lucky draws or anything similar to the aforementioned. Not insinuating how I hate not being chosen all the time, but its just not my luck. Nevertheless, lady luck seems to like me better these past few years. Is it safe to say now that I am in luck?
So, as the event comes close to the end, the frenzy of playing with the glitters on the table started. Plus ballooning all over. I guess I was too attractive that I had to be the victim of so many people. Teck Yan chased me around the hall just to sprinkle me with this hand full of glitters while I was busy running away from him with a balloon tied to my wrist. Funny much. Was pretty much making use of my reflex and my speed to move my short legs cause Tecky had damn long legs. He's way taller than me man.
Dude!! 7 years knowing you and you're still so evil to me every time we see each other!
Still, in the end, I got it bad, be it from Teck Yan or from Kent or anyone else. I got it real bad. Ended up shining like a total freak. Heck, I was literally glowing! Shinier than Edward Cullen. Hands down.
(okay I don't think anyone likes the rate I am going through things like flashing slide shows. Am just planning to write down what I think its memorable)
After the event, I was pretty hyper. Really. To the extent that someone actually tied a balloon to my green ribbon at my pony tail and I gladly left it there. Walked around with a balloon floating on mid air from the back of my head. Need not say the hysterical and endless laughter. Unfortunately, it flew away when I got out of the building. Am still grieving over the lost. It was tragic. A massive one.

Went to The Hills opposite of Wisma HELP for a drink. Alcohol drink. Well, I wasn't so much into the mood of drinking so I did not order anything, instead, took sips from everyone's. Just to have a taste. Somewhere through the middle, I got emotional again. Michelle lent me her shoulder and heck it was embarrassing. Downed the last few bits of the alcohol hoping they will take effect, following my crappy mood then. Yet nothing happened.

.

Crashed Jia Lynn's place for the night. It was really fun. Every single bit of it. From playing cards, to wii, to facetime with CK, to playing with the rabbit doll, to pillow talk, to camwhoring, to playing the piano, to failing at attempts to record my playing, to heart-to-heart talk with Amanda, to liking my pj so much, to applying lotion, to cracking jokes and laughing our asses off at four o'clock in the morning, to preparing for bed, to fighting for places to sleep, to falling asleep at five something in the morning, to waking up to the biological clock at 9.30am, to waking everyone else up, to trying to pull lazy bum Amanda out of bed, to sending Vanesse off to the LRT station, to coming back and continue disturbing Amanda till she gets up, to watching morning programs on tv, to catatonic moments, to going out for dim sum as brunch, to coming back home from the tiring day, to feeling all like a high school girl once again, to feeling contended, to thinking I can finally rest in peace? (awkward silence) *facepalm*

...

When you wake up in the morning, its sunshine all over again. Hello, life.

It was full moon today
Should I turn into a full-grown vamp
Leave you a mark and make you mine for eternity

LeePeiNing.

Bring it in. Break it up.

Today was HELP Trekaton. I got to know last minute from Derrick and pulled Amanda along. We signed up 15 minutes before the event started and my number was 093.
Well, basically, some of the departments like HMC came in with quantity instead of quality. Their numbers are intimidating. For real. They came in buses while there were only four of us from ADP. Just imagine if Amanda and I didn't join the race. That would leave Derrick and James, two man show.
The race started slow. That was because Amanda and I were lagged behind, slowed down by some Jia Lynn and Sarah like people. :D
Yeah we were mocking them, hypothesizing about how they will react if they were to join the race as well. After overtaking the few, we realized that the rest were far ahead, out of sight. Bravo, girls.
Almost close to the ending, we were worn out, literally. Us feeling light-headed, panting like cows, trying to catch our breath, yet knowing each breath we take in will very much hurt the throat. The cheering by the facilitators and some of the contestants ten meters away from the finishing line certainly did not help. They were shouting, "Go green shirt girls. You can do it! 10 meters to go! Go green girls." For America.
Yet, the sight of the guys at the opening was a huge relief. Massive. I reserved my last energy and sprinted past Amanda to take down the 25th place for the female category. 25th. Quite pathetic huh?
But we could have done better without the lousy start. Defo.
The guys did an amazing job making ADP proud though, with James the 2nd while Derrick the 6th. Funny thing was during the price giving ceremony, only Amanda and I were cheering for them guys while the rest just simply stared at us like we had horns growing from our heads.
I really look forward to the day where others would stop making false impression and apprehension about the ADP department. We cool people and we certainly are very much human like themselves. Or maybe... we're too cool for them to hang out with. Fortunately, we have BComm students to love us when the others have their backs against us. Cheers!

Came home, dead tired. Fatigue. Exhausted. Burned. Boned.
Took care of my precious sport shoes before lunch and crashed after that. Slept for three hours again. Not productive. Now rush assignment and study for Calculus quiz. I hope I don't shake with fear tomorrow.

Till then.

Pei Ning.

ADP Annual Ball 2010.

Careful – Paramore

Well, I was planning to write a long post for this but due to my endless procrastination, I sorta lost the inspiration to do so since it was long time ago. Well, feels like its more than a month ago.

So, the event was on the 19th of November, Friday. I can still remember vividly that day was Bio group report submission due date. Well, the whole week itself was filled with many assignment submission and it didn’t feel like prom is nearing at all. Not to me, not to my friends. Even my dress, accessories and heels were all a last minute thing. Was too busy with course works.

The event was held in Park Royal. Before that, washed and blew my hair at a saloon Justin’s friend was working at.

Dressed in the short black flowing dress and a pair of silver strap heels, I walked out of the ladies and all I need then was make up to be fully presentable. No. I don’t know how to do it myself but thankfully, I have all my girlfriends to save my face. First was Cassandra, who helped me with the eyeliner. Then Leanne to help with the touch up. Then back to Cassandra with the eye shadow. Then a few more with I don’t remember who. Sorry I can’t remember you and it wasn’t entirely my fault because I was shouted at whenever I attempt to open my eyes or even try to peer through the little slit I forced open to see what was going on. Yeah they raised their voices at me :’(  Nah but I won’t blame them, they just excited for me since they never seen me in makeup. :D

Everything was fine and fun. Awkward moment was when they opened the dance floor for couples and for everyone else. Scarcely a few went up and danced their heart out. Well, that was mainly because the song prepared by the DJ weren’t always prefect for the atmosphere. Thumbs down.

The fun parts were the photo taking sessions in between everything and the hangout session outside of the ballroom. :)

73960_10150107906825873_637650872_7591977_4726297_n 74164_10150107903485873_637650872_7591865_2785948_n IMG_1925 148867_10150107909020873_637650872_7592035_8088431_n

After the prom was some settling unfinished things then off to club at Sheraton for the after party in the heavy downpour. Scary. Never been in KL when it floods and my first time just had to be in the middle of the night in a small car. Darn afraid that the car will just fail on us. Reached there to find everyone hanging around the hotel lobby. So the after party was cancelled due to lousy planning. Its heading home after that.

Removed the makeup and took a warm shower before lying down on the sofa, awaiting text message from the gentleman who sent me home just to make sure he made it home safe. Crawled back to cuddle with my huggies under the nice warm sheet and fell deep into dreamland.

The End.

Thanksgiving = Food = Good *:)

Shed A Tear - RyanHiga & friends

I didn't come up with this equation. It was Kyian, the emcee for the night, who did. Very random and a hundred percent true! Everyone cheered to that. *:)
.

It was staying back for approximately 4 hours after class and counselling session for this party. I would say all I anticipated was the food. They promised us turkey from Victoria Station and a very scrumptious meal in the name of a Thanksgiving party! That should, or must be able to satiate my cravings for delicious food.
Kudos to American Eagle club, which was kind enough to take up the job of organizing this event. And also, they were also 'kind' enough to leave us salivating for godknowshowlong with the nicely planned agenda by implementing loads of suspense in it.
Oh and while I was watching the performances, it hit me that I am actually in a Thanksgiving party and not other else. Of the seven performances that they had that night, four of them are Indian performances. I'm not being racist, but what has Indian dances got to do with Thanksgiving? Though I especially enjoy the performance by the lecturers. hawt!
Another performance was by an African dude who self-proclaimed as an adopted son? of Jabbawockeez, the kick-ass awesome dance crew. Well, he's definitely got some cool moves over there, but his style? Way out of a Jabbawockeez's.
Besides, Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars is definitely overplayed, overrated, overdosed. Yeah the lyrics are pretty flattering and the whole world seems to be so addicted to this song. Darn! Anymore of it and i am sure going to puke. Like, SERIOUSLY! guhhh...

Finally, they let us attack the food and before Kyian gets to finish his sentence, i'm up from my sit, galloping my way to the food section. Well, I heard Cassandra saying, "wtf Evelyn?" Sorry pal, that's me :D
The food was indeed delicious. Except that they served it with some rather queer and weird tasting drink and rootbeer-taste-alike corns.
After dinner was the lucky draw plus a few more performances and the utterly hilarious broken telephone game. Never laughed so hard in my entire life till my abdomen and diaphragm hurts hell and i felt like i'm dying laughing. Its that bad. No joke.
So after that, we went to Bangsar for a drink at one of the mamaks before heading home.

 I'm a happy kid :)

Bad Day - Daniel Powter

As a complete contradiction to the song currently in my playlist, today was more than great. Ironic isn't it?
,

The day started with really heavy downpour. Chilly wind and gloomy sky. Weather like this makes me emotional yet weather like this is just perfect for cuddling with the warm sheets on that superbly comfortable bed. Bliss.
Biology lab today was a kill joy unfortunately. Reason being that I have to leave that place I can't get enough of to college for lab. :'(
Nevertheless, today's lab was a little different and fun mainly because it was flexible and we get to walk around the area to hunt for monocotyledon and dicotyledon plants (flowers and leaves). Back to the lab to examine the leaves under the light microscope. Saw some pretty cool leave patterns. Rather enlightening
,

Pizza Hut for lunch with Justin at Damansara Jaya delivery branch. Didn't have the set meal for two so we resolved something else. Got my hands on that new pizza with six different kinds of cheeses. Very satisfying (only applies to people who use hands to eat pizza instead of forks and knives). *:)
.

Remember where I talked about the Hennessy Artistry event on the previous post? (scroll down if you wish to confirm that you're blind)
Yeap so the post by Justin is up! Click Here

Hmm... something about snuggling up is unfathomably satisfying and addictive ♥
Aite I'm zoning out as I work on this post. Lots of long pauses in between each sentence just so you know. So weird.
Oh I love this song --> Beautiful Disaster by Kelly Clarkson
Plus, I'm so in love with the lyrics of Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. Girls, don't it just makes your heart flutter? Cause it does to mine :)
Happy Halloween Earthings!

&because there will be no reasons left for me to hate you whenever I stare at your beautiful face.

Till then lovely,
EvelynLee.

paper notes;

When was the last time I went to this annual event? Too long... So I decided to return to take a look around

I was never fast in wearing yukata until that day (17.7.2010). A talk at 222 dragged on till I barely had time to get home and prepare. Took me only about 15 minutes to look good in my pink yukata. The long walk down the road to the stadium brutally murdered my feet. That wooden slippers I was wearing was definitely not a pair of comfortable footwear. I wished I wore my orange flip flops instead. Alone, I contacted Sook Yan to locate her position so that I could go ahead and look for her. Man, it was hard as hell in the midst of the sea of ecstatic people.
Justin spammed my inbox with messages about how he got lost and was really scared. He made me really nervous as I could do nothing to help. He made it there in the end anyway...
There were nothing special besides the overwhelming number of people present then and of course, beautifully dressed people in colorful variety of yukata. The dances on the stage situated right in the middle of the stadium, went on and on along with the music. They seemed to have repetitive dance moves, though I did not pay much attention to it. I was busy hunting down small kids to take picture with. It was epic how our attempts to get those chubby faces to snap a picture with us turned out. They actually looked fragile and vulnerable beside us. I can totally imagine how their small legs would shake furiously beneath that sheer sheets of fabrics over, which were only capable of providing the littlest psychological protection from the strangers aside. Some even cringed so quickly to hide behind their mummy's legs as we approached as if it was a normal reflex action taking place. Adorable. *feigns evil laughter*
Bumped into Adri, Hazim and Hadi, some high school dudes. Adri looked laid back in his cool wool fedora. It was weird seeing them hanging around without the presence of Riyal. They used to stick to each other back then in high school as if they were glued together.
That event ended sooner than expected. People streamed out from the stadium. It was a rather chaotic situation

Did I mention how glad I was to be able to meet Sook Yan again? After many unsuccessful plans to meet up after parting ways, finally... I'm rather satisfied. :)

Today I browsed through my sister's phone book and saw that she had Jay Sean's phone number in it. I bet she took it down from one of Jay's tweets. Talk about celebrity crush. She beats me in that. :D

Vanilla Twilight's music video gives me goosebumps. <3

Fete de la Musique 2010.

Airplanes - B.O.B ft Hayley Williams

It has been a while since Fete de la Musique. The only reason to the delay of this post is obvious. So I guess that it is still unnecessary for me to go into any indulgent explanations.

Fete de la Musique is an annual music event organized to celebrate music. When I say music, I mean every genre you possibly know or may not. Keeping to the 8-year-old tradition, Malaysia becomes part of this worldwide celebration, while giving opportunities to local amatuer and professional musicians to showcase their musical talent without discrimination of background, style and experience. Plus, it is a music festival held in more than 300 countries worldwide, happening on the same day - the day of pure summer solstice

I initially signed up for a whole day shift from 8am till 10pm, not a clue about what this event has got to offer. I thought, maybe this is a golden opportunity for me to burn my way-too-much internship hours. I stepped out of the car onto the hard bitumen pavement where my canvas shoes gripped on, just to have a series of drum test noise bombard both ears. I exhaled heavily and immediately shrugged off the negative thoughts a pessimist like me can come up with then headed towards the red booth set up about a hundred meters away. I sauntered pass the Volkswagen showroom and managed to have some envious moments. Shared some light moments with Reuben and the others who came along soon while watching some of the bands stepped up to do sound tests.
The string of back to back performance which lasted till about 11pm began at 10.30 in the morning. As expected, the morning performances did not attract any crowd at all. The shoppers merely took glances at the performers on stage as they strutted by. As I was in charge of floor managing, my boss instructed me to go around explaining to people what the event was about, or even wheedle people into joining the fun out of desperation. The scorching sun was one of the pullbacks of the event, I mean, who is willing to risk standing under the hot sun just to watch some random people perform? No doubt, some of the pretty performers with pretty voice and awesome, undeniable musical talents were able to hold on to a number of shoppers for a short moment, the other average ones failed to do so.
I hung around with the UOL's first year students, Foundation, HMC, A Levels and some of BComm students under the shades at HELP's booth. Next to us was the Digi's booth (Digi was the sponsor for this event). We were busy munching on the free popcorns provided by Digi while admiring the Digi girls' pretty Converse shoes. Was fantasizing while waiting for time to pass.

Bands and individual performers went up stage and came back down. Busiest people were the backstage people. Did some surveys and found out that they have some serious stuffs going on back there. Lots of coordinating, instruments check plus phoning up performers and ensuring their attendance. Of course, I wished to help but clumsy people like me was afraid that I might screw everything up in the end, so I politely apologized for not being able to lend some help. (:
Things began to heat up when the shift changes around 3o'clock in the afternoon. Yet, the crowd wasn't enough for us to begin our work. So we continued maundering stories, one after another while cheering after every performance. A quarter of the cheerleading team Blitzers from BU4 came to perform their short yet skillful routine as well! Loving the blazing charisma and energetic movements out there. Not to forget, HengLing, for treating the girls ice-cream sundae from McD. It was surely a perfect dessert to satisfy our cravings in such hot day
,

As the golden sun set for the day to some twilight moments, spotlight shone to highlight the performances on stage. My friend, Clement,

who was the drummer for his band - Pop The Cherry, took the stage and rocked it, just like how the other bands did. Apparently, his drum stick flew out of his hands accidentally when he waved it but he made it so cool looking as if it was a planned thing. Good thing he brought an extra because it had happened before in his previous performance. The crowd size was gradually increasing in number and of course, there were some rare sight of some crazy audiences and lead singers of bands, shaking their heads so vigorously like their heads were detaching from their necks. Felt like they were on crack, Ecstacy or some sort. Freaky. At that time, crowd control was all about preventing these psychopaths from going over the top and crashing the stage. It wouldn't be a beautiful sight if they did.
As the night veiled over the entire area, I grew used to the loud, heavy metal musics above my average tolerant level. I imagined how my eardrums were less flexible and insensitive to sounds right above inaudible level. Yet, that did not keep me from getting all pumped up during the event. I was shouting and cheering, easily blending into the crazy crowd out there, except for the fact that the shirt I was wearing was chilly red. I actually silently hoped to lose my voice the next day, but as usual, things I wished for never come true. Oh well, that was one frivolous and weird wish anyway.

.

The night ended well with me trying to calm myself down. Kiss The Rain by Yiruma was on replay mode. I fell asleep with much ease eventually.

Love.

Bandana? Owh... Lingam the HELP bus driver! (:

Waka Waka - Shakira

I kept my promise and is feeling pretty glad~

Lingam, the coolest bus driver at HELP. Yesterday, 20th of June, was his birthday. It was a Sunday so in order to celebrate for him, we decided to have this bandana day today where HELP students are supposed to wear bandanas.
Wondering why bandana? Cause Lingam wears a bandana over his head every single day! Rain or shine, the man with bandana is at your service. He has great smile! :)

,

Malaysians. Many people are actually well aware of this little thing that we put up to show our appreciation towards the driver with pro driving skills. Yet, there were barely five people whom I saw wearing bandanas. Such a big disappointment. I guess the creator of the "Lingam is my favorite HELP bus driver" page in Facebook felt more than I did. Justin said I was sporting, wearing that bandana, albeit not taking the bus to main block. I got to say, I AM INDEED! :D

FIFA SOUTH AFRICA 2010 update: Portugal vs North Korea; 7-0 Cheers! :D

Love, Eve.
