The Best You Never Had - Leona Lewis

home,

.

Somehow, whenever i log on to Facebook and enter the homepage, i feel like there's this boundary between my home, my friends back home, my life back home. As they talk about the most random things, even going to an island like Redang, i have this deep temptation to join them, mainly because i am not able to. Of course, you will understand how when you are interdicted or deliberately deprived from something that you crave for it badly.
Some people ask me if i am experiencing or have experienced any form of home sick feelings. My response? Simply stare at them with this completely clueless facial expression and shake my head.
Nope. Nothing. Nil.
No! It wasn't because i don't love home or not close to home or not family oriented. I am!
The wonders of technology has played a crucial role in bringing home closer to my heart despite me being more than 10,000 miles apart from home. I am literally on the opposite side of the earth, seeing that I am exactly 12 hours behind the Asia Pacific time zone.
Skyping with my parents when they are at home can be really comforting at times. With the occasional cuckoo sounds are just simply nostalgic. Just the sounds of those are enough to bring tears to my eyes.
Nevertheless, knowing that i am not the only one experiencing this, some may be even worse, the people in Plattsburgh, the ISS staff, the lecturers, the admin, the workers, the students etc. Literally everyone around me are so friendly and open. People around me are always smiling so cheerfully, wishing each other a great day ahead, asking each other about how their days went when they bump into each other. Whether this is an American thing or is everyone just so perfect and radiant i do not know. But, the positive aura here is just constantly exploding and renewing like nuclear energy.
Unlimited. Forever. Constantly. Never ending.

No reason to feel blue. No reason to feel depressed. As everyone's here for each other.
Furthermore, the amount of reading and work given just in the first two weeks are just overwhelming, leaving no room for emotions and procrastination. Just working the ass off.
Of course, not forgetting fun. Playing Mario Kart with them people are just fun. Kyle and Jeremy? They are just extremely friendly people you'll even get addicted to hanging out with them.
I love my roommate for we still maintain very good relationship and she really likes me. Hope this goes on of course. Need to clean the floor though heh...

.

Night is settling. Just in a few more hours the sun will come back up and take over the world.
Shall be heading to bed then. Will miss the playlist and the amazing headphones.
the hand dryer in the toilet is very scary. it triggers by itself even when there's no one there. lets just pray hard its just the screwed up machines inside or we'll have to call the ghostbusters.
Oh how i love my RA and how she jokes around. She reminds me of Beauty from Beauty and the Beast. Watch out for those amazing smiles!

Goodnight toodles!

rain,

let silence sink in once in a while, that way, it'll get you to think
.

It has been raining all day long. The temperature had a rather but not quite drastic drop compared to Sunday. It is rather chilly outside, much more after the sun goes down. Actually, the sun never really came out from hiding behind the rain clouds. It was just there, behind them, giving out very faint light energy, just enough to make buildings 1 mile out visible.
Maybe it is taking a break. A break for Labor's Day.
The occasionally strong wind reminds me of the hurricane last weekend. As I struggled a little keeping the balance of my fragile and aged umbrella, i silently wished that i have brought a better umbrella over to the States.
I wore my new canvas shoes for the third time perhaps. The more steps i take across the pathway, across the roads of the parking lots, the more i take pity on my new shoes. As the front side of the pretty blue fabric turns darker when the rain drops splatter on it, water from the floor that bounces off along with my feet and lands gracefully on it, i silently wished that i didn't have to go through all of these with my precious little one.
It has been raining all day long. Maybe it is just nature taking pity on the students and lecturers and everybody in the university, or anyone outside of the university, for having to commence on our activities after the weekend, despite Labor's Day. Perhaps.
Bryan, my Critical Reading class lecturer, said something about the differences between work and job. Of course, Labor's Day is a day off of one's job; but it is certainly not the case for work. In fact, he looked forward to his work, hence, nods in agreement with the university's decision to not call a day off for this supposed to be a rest day for everyone.
A wise comment. A philosophical one.

While you think more about the content of my writing, or dozing off in the midst of it, i shall resume to my reading for Public Speaking class.
Or, grab some dinner if YeeJin comes by and knock on my door.

Till then~

a new way. a new life.

Come Round Soon - Sara Bareilles

Music comes into play when silence is deafening
.

I apologize for not updating my blog despite many eager readers, wanting to know what has become of me after I left Malaysia. I am sincerely sorry.
Well, I have been trying to adapt to this new life, more to finding a rhythm and trying to keep up with the pace of it. I love how there's increased opportunities for leisure, being all independent right now (not entirely true actually but i am certainly trying), breaking off my comfort zone, dipping my toe then submerge my entire body into the frozen lake (just a metaphor). And what's greatest is that my appetite has greatly increased ever since I set foot in the United States.
Well, everything here is big in the US, even my campus, it is big. I do have to speed walk about at least 10 - 15 minutes to reach the farthest building in my campus from my residence hall, which is the opposite end. Loads of non-deliberate exercise and you'll somehow grow fitter and gain some stamina because walking is inadvertent here. Hence, I have learnt the lesson of leaving at least half an hour to get ready to walk to class. Just in case there's a change of venue and you'll be so dead if you were to rush to class just to find a small notice pasted at the door notifying a change of venue.
It was a bad experience, for my first day of class. I thought class was at this building close to my residence hall so i took my own sweet time walking there. Then when i was smack in front of the entrance of Yokum, i recalled the email i read last night and there was a change of venue. I ransacked my bag through the things and checked my notebook once more. I felt myself turning pale as i stare at the new venue. It is almost 15 minutes walk from where i was. So i speed walked there due to time constraint and still had trouble looking for the classroom even in the building itself. That situation sucks a big time.

Listen - Beyonce Knowles

I am enrolled in 6 classes this semester. 15 credits in total. Still, i love critical reading class the most. Reason was because my lecturer, Bryan, reminds me a lot of Joe's class. The lecturer was bald as well, just like Joe. The way he conducts the class is also somewhat similar to Joe. Really relaxing. Plus, I love how there's always discussion and critical thinking involving when class in session. College Writing class, in the meanwhile, even though the syllabus is almost the same, but the lecturer, Marcia, is a very peculiar lady. Hence, her way of conducting the class is odd as well. Not quite my thing.
Psychological Statistics class is more to like Add Math in high school and Statistics in college. Very much the same. Still can cope with it so far. Hope things stays the same like that. Lecturer gives very clear explanation and examples as well though. Public Speaking lecturer gives me a hard time when she contradicts herself though. Saying that we can retain our accents because it is our roots, yet she commented on the way i'm pronouncing "say". And she said the right way to pronounce it is the American way since I'm in America now. the toot?
This first week is long. But so far, it has been good. Having I guess a funner class later, International Experience. If we were to pass the entrance test, we wouldn't have to take that class. But it is worth one credit, so I am going to take it anyways. Why? Because i am not a Japanese student. Somehow being Japanese, they have this thing against this class! Hahahaha... Many of them studied to make sure they pass the test to be exempted from this class. How adorable :)

When We Die - Bowling For Soup

I really love it when i get lucky and the door for the access to the performance grand is open. So far, I only got to play on it twice, but the experience was beyond describable. There's this feeling of satisfaction when my fingers run freely on it. The first time i did, I was overwhelmed with this particular feeling, which has got nothing to do with playing the piano, but the resonance of the sounds was in sync with my feelings and my eyes started to blur out and i cried. I was depressed that day. Hence, getting all emotional on the piano.
The rest of the upright pianos in John Myers Fine Arts Building were in terrible condition though.
The ones in the game rooms in residence halls Adirondack and Whiteface are just okay. Well, talking about pianos, i better get going and play myself some nice music before my next class.

Toodleloo~
Till then, folks.

back to authenticity...

I Love You This Big - Scotty McCreery

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it. - Margaret Fuller

Imparting knowledge is only lighting other men's candles at our lamp without depriving ourselves of any flame. - Jane Porter
.

I like it when there's no electricity. I like the eccentricity of relying only on candle lights, the authenticity of carrying the candle stand everywhere I go.

It is like you're a step closer to the past where electricity has not existed yet, or maybe like the aborigines living in the outskirts, in the jungle, miles away from the hustle bustle of the city.
It is like nothing else when you can just sit down and chill without being in front of your laptop, or the television, but just you and the quiet surroundings. Noticed how the entire place becomes quiet when the electricity just gets cut off? No more sounds coming from the TV, the video playing on the laptop, the songs on the radio. Nothing. Nil.
I like how the shadows of opaque objects are cast on the walls and appear like they are having a festival and partying the night away, dancing along with the flickering of the small fire at the tip of the candle stick.

Nevertheless, when the electricity is cut off, the air cond stops working, the electrical fans stops working, even the ceiling fans seize to work as well! Being in Malaysia, a tropical country, having no electricity is a taboo because without any cooling devices working, we'll probably sweat ourselves to death at the end of the day. It is that bad. Plus, the raging and aggressive mosquitos these days, before you even die of the extremely hot weather, you'll probably get stung to death or itch to death already. Lets just pray hard that those mosquitos that stung you weren't harmful.
Pity those who are rushing assignments or studying for an exam though. Having no electricity is the worst thing that can ever happen to one going through all these things. Can you imagine having all your exam notes all saved in the laptop but your laptop battery is dying yet the electricity is not coming back any time soon? Same thing goes to you rushing your assignments? Can you imagine having to study using only candle lights and you're already so sleepy yet you have to stay awake because you barely read anything and your paper is tomorrow morning? LOL. All I can say is - Good Luck *fingers crossed*

So, there you go! The beauty and ugly of having no electricity. Mehh...

Celebrity fun facts:

I always wanted to get married with just candles! I think candlelight is the most beautiful light there is and there's something very spiritual about it. - Nicole Kidman

You know, maybe I was just born in the wrong time, but I love all things romantic. Puffy understands that. For my last birthday, he covered my hotel room floor with rose petals and had flowers and candles all over the room. - Jennifer Lopez

MTV World Stage 2011 cum Snowalk i-City

Don't Cry - Park Bom

bouncing on my chair along with the catchy beat of this song :)
.

I went shopping with the family on Friday night at The Gardens and mummy bought some stuff. Credits to MasterCard who gave away tickets to Snowalk i-City as well as to the MTV World Stage 2011. I was astonished when mummy passed the tickets to me. Never once I thought I would get the tickets to such a thing.
I personally was not really into things like this but since I have free tickets and manage to convince this great company to come with me, plus, out of curiosity, off i went!
i-City is rather easy to get to actually, with the help of the map at the back of the tickets. Went there using the Federal Highway and manage to get there with much ease. The big billboards they set up to lead to the parking spots were rather confusing though. Fortunately, there were 3 parking lots to choose from and we missed the first two that passed us :D so silly.
Reached there about 4 ish and the crowd was already building up despite the raging heat in the afternoon. Looking at those excited faces of the youngsters there, contrarily, my excitement was slowly dampened. Clearly, I am not such a big fan of crazy crowds.

The entire place was an utter turn off. With people pushing around trying to get closer to the stage and have a better look at the artists, with people puffing on cigarettes, which was obviously prohibited. What was worse was due to my height, all I breathe in was air exhaled by tall people, fanning myself only led to fanning hot and stale air to myself. It made me rather pissy and annoyed. It made me a bitch. So, I dragged my partners from the crowd close to the screen and the stage, back to where the air was more flowing and less crowd after the first band performed by Pop Shuvit, a local band. I would rather see everything from a screen, hear it live from afar, than seeing it in close distance, hear the echo of the beats pump in my heart and vibrate my shorts while suffocating myself to death.
Outside food and drinks were not allowed in the concert area. They just had to snatch everything away from me including the soya milk included in the gift bag from MasterCard. I felt like biting that Tomboy's head off lor seriously!! And the food and beverage prices sold in there are seriously sky high. Its called day-light robbery, or approved robbery in public! Ish so angry >:(
Plus, they sold the MTV shirts as well for RM49 per piece. While the booth beside it was selling the so called official merchandise of 30 Seconds to Mars; CD(RM40), t-shirts and tank tops (RM90/piece). The price was such a turn off, some more the person in charge was complaining about how they won't want to employ female salesgirl because they not aggressive enough. So sexist! *bitch slaps*
,

Anyways, Pop Shuvit really stood out and got the crowd working and jumping. A great start to the event. Even though the sun was still up and heating up the ground, they managed to heat up the crowd as well! Great work. And the Project EAR was awesome as well. They managed to hit way beyond my expectations of a local band and I was rather proud of their performance of that night.
Beast/B2st was rather okay. Since I wasn't a fan of 'em, I didn't really notice them but I guess they were okay. The dances was kinda quirky and awkward in a way. Not BAM enough to impress. But still, they managed to flatter all their hardcore fans. Not judging 'em.
Neon Trees was the third band to perform. Well, I can confidently tell you, drummers are those whom I find most attractive in a band. And Neon Trees caught me off guard with a female drummer! Wow. She totally rocked that drum set in such a controlled manner despite the crazy crowd out there and her crazy band mates while having fun in her bright red outfit! Sizzling fo' shiz. Plus, the lead singer I have no idea what his name was did a great job introducing each song he and the band was going to perform. Nice job. Overall, though I have no idea what the 4 out of 5 songs they performed, they were good. Almost like what you can hear in studio records. Animals, the only song I know, was performed well too! I like :)
30 Seconds to Mars was actually the highlight of this event, at least, to me. Yet, I was too tired of the thing going on plus, to avoid the crazy traffic after the concert ends, my partner and I decided to leave after Neon Trees
.

We checked out Snowalk using the tickets I got free as well. I checked online and found out its -5 degrees Celsius indoor. Yet, probably it was because I came from a very stuffy outdoor so putting on the winter jacket loaned from the place was more than sufficient. In fact, I can feel my body heat radiating from the inside of the jacket. Did not button up or zip my jacket for fear that i might die of heat. My nose mouth area was pretty numb though, not to mention my fingers too! :)
Played the two slide like games, one of which was on the snow and the other was on ice. Wasn't quite fun. The snow one was pretty giddy and the ice one was really causing pain in the ass :D
As expected, there were nothing in Snowalk but just a huge ass freezer with some ice carving and we were in it. Meh...

.

I-City is ridiculous actually. So lame with all the fake maple trees decorated with lights. They should make use of the space for better stuff like to build houses or whatever crap but this!! Hmm... Still, its a pretty good place for concerts lah, and to take pictures wtf. I do wonder who will go to this place in purpose for a day trip or anything. I wouldn't go back there I swear. Unless something comes up and the venue is there -.-

not focused :x

See CK stoning in the background. He damn stone the whole time. So funny lah :D

That's all for now. But before that, check out my polaroid photo captured by MasterCard :)
Could've gotten two shots but didn't know once I get in the concert area cannot go out :'(
And i was thinking of taking another one with my partner or just let him be in the spotlight :)

Oh well, the mango joke :P

Goodnight!
Love, peining *:)

What's it like having a period?

My music playlist shuffles to...
We Belong Together - Mariah Carey

How is it like many will wonder. Especially males and yettoreachpuberty females. Well, this is an interesting question. Let me break it down for you if you care.

Disclaimer : This information is entirely based on accumulation of complains I receive from other female counterparts which may or may not apply to my own or to the general population so do not worry too much about it or if you care, leave this page immediately if you do not feel comfortable with this topic.
The 'I's in the below context not necessary refer to me, the first party.
The 'you's in the below context not necessary refer to you as well so don't be so paranoid or self-conscious.

First, you start getting cramps, on the first day of period especially. Not like the kind of bad normal cramps. It's 'HOLY **** SHOOT ME IN THE HEAD I WANT TO CURL UP IN A BALL AND DIE I HATE MY LIFE' cramps. You also get back pains. Or even feel weak in both your legs. It's not the worst, but it's just extremely uncomfortable and not fun to sleep with.

Blood also pours out of your vagina. And I'm not exaggerating when I say pour. Stand up, Niagara Falls coming out of a hole in your body. Cough, Niagara Falls. Sneeze, Niagara Falls. You also have to deal with the paranoia everyone will see because it soaked through your pants. To avoid this from happening, you either have to wear a diaper-type thing or shove something up your vagina and leave it there for hours. It doesn't feel good either. You still get the paranoia that comes along with it as well. Best advice for a girl having her menstruation: no bright colored pants or skirt especially white.

On top of it all, you're somehow angry, horny, depressed, hungry and in extreme pain all at the same time. And when you're on your period, it's the anger that you want to stab someone. Horny, Horny. You want to either die or eat everything in sight. And we have to do this for a week straight, once every month. Do the math, we have 12 out of the 52 weeks in a year... suffering -__-
(though my period seldom really cause much of a problem actually so I don't really understand how bad period can be)

So... Is that a good enough explanation?
Face it that's a life of a girl.

Hoping this doesn't offend anybody, I sign off with much pride.

Highland Haven Retreat.

Embers – Helen Jane Long

Imagine three families with the surname Lee, taking a trip up to Cameron Highlands. Imagine three cars, cruising down the highway in a perfect sequence of silver, black and white. Imagine a rather heavy meal in every subsequent three hours. :)

Saturday, 4th September was the day when we went up to Cameron Highlands. Oh yeah, this is a very delayed post. Hmm… so the two families I went with were all big people. They were like half giants to my family only because we appear minuscule standing alongside them, like dwarfs. Big people, big appetite, high metabolism rate. That explains the very frequent heavy meals throughout the trip. :P

We checked in at Ye Olde Smokehouse.

Cameron 929

The authentic English Tudor style hotel was originally built in 1939. The entire building was surrounded by green grass, fountain and white steel benches, beautifully decorated by myriad species of colored flowering blossoms. The tea garden concept provides a much laid-back and tranquil ambience. Having sitting on the bench, sipping sips of English tea, enjoying the gentle warmth of the sun embracing your skin while cold breeze sweeps past your cheeks to counter the heat. Its sheers bliss. Really.

Cameron 924 Cameron 916 Cameron 844 Cameron 925 Cameron 927

The interior design of the Smokehouse was stunning as well, completed with many interesting collections including horseshoe collection and wall hanging plates. I personally adore such collection and find them very intriguing and pretty.

English breakfast in the morning was very filling. It is inclusive in the price you pay for the stay there. Scones are considered rather popular in Cameron Highlands and in the traditional English breakfast, you will get to taste the usual English delicacies. They also serve tea with scones, cream and homemade strawberry jam.

So basically, its snapping pictures all the way for me alongside the two uncles who were also holding their DSLRs. Live tutor. Very helpful. :D

We stopped by the teahouse halfway up the mountain and halfway down the mountain, just like any other time. Snapped pictures of the breath-taking scenery. I adore the tea plantation. Very beautiful.

love &hearts,

Our Song - Taylor Swift

Just few days ago I experienced this throbbing migraine which completely burned my left brain into ashes. Excruciating much.
After giving some thoughts, I hypothesized that it could be because of the peak level of stress I experienced the night before. With Human Personality assignment due on the next day, guilt of having one of my friends stay up late to submit our then, incomplete assignment to turnitin.com and the troubles some sissy bastard has been causing.
I think at that time, I felt like I was on the verge of exploding into thousand pieces of smithereens and nobody was there to pick me up and put me back into pieces. I would be then, like a messed up jigsaw puzzle, where people will just drift past me, showing no signs of compassion
.

Friday and Saturday were two consecutive days with things going on under SASA. Friday was a talk on the psychology of people's management by my beloved lecturer, Dr. Goh. He used to be my lecturer for Social Psychology and since then, I always thought he looks very much like a teddy bear, so cuddly I feel like squishing him. Yeap, its not like I have a crush on this particular lecturer but I think he's quite an eye candy for a lecturer and few of my friends actually agreed with me!
Nevertheless, Dr. Goh is such good lecturer he don't need his super cuddly looks to keep me awake. I even love the way he conducts his lectures and talks. Very professional and interesting.
Showing some signs of envy over here heh... But its true. *shows straight face*
On Saturday itself was the highly anticipated SASA Awards Day. Well, kinda.
Because this is when we give out certificates to our new SASA juniors of 2011 who will then, lead the SASA team besides to the SASA seniors of 2010.
Time to step down folks. We're old already.
Basically, everything went well and I got a scroll with my certificates in it, just like everyone else. So niceeee... but, what am I supposed to do with it? Clueless *shrugs*
.

Yesterday, I was supposed to wrap up all the ohistillhavelotsoftimetocompletemyassignment feeling and begin to work on the remaining parts of my Western Philosophy assignment. Alas, after having breakfast out at Kayu Nasi Kandar with my aunt, who left to Singapore after breakfast, uncle lizard and wife came over to my place to pick up something and dragged us out to Sunway Pyramid. I thought, oh maybe its a good opportunity for me to just scout for my dress and heels for ball on Friday. So I tagged along.
After lots of strolling around, trying out many dresses and heels, proceeded with looking at some really pretty looking winter trench (they leaving for Scotland on Tuesday), my mind sort of drifted away from the real intention of me being there. I actually felt like ditching ADP ball, ditching assignments, ditching classes, ditching everything pending in my to-do-list to go to some winter country. With them to Scotland would be great :)
Lunch at Fullhouse was a little less than satisfying. I would say the food there is just ordinary. Not worth the price I paid for. Though, I would suggest you try going there on weekdays instead where they have the super deals for set lunch, I think that is worth it. Headed to Coffee Bean for some really nice scones, muffins, cheesecake and of course, ice blended hazelnut coffee. mmm...
I was eventually stuffed in the end :D
Went home empty handed while mum got herself a nice blouse with a really sweet pink tone. I would say I have decided on the dress and heels and reserved it. Gonna go get it on Wednesday cause it would be then, cheaper! *:)
Happy feeling was not short-lived. It even endured past the struggles I went through in completing my Philosophy assignment. I am still a happy child. *smiles smiles*

Lovely,

so you sailed away,

Sweet Memories – Olivia Ong

I didn’t know what happened. I had no clue. All I knew was that I screwed up the whole thing. The sudden strong urge to just put an explosive in my brain and blow my whole head up is hitting me hard now…

a_little_hope_by_alephunky-d2xgj9i,

Today is Malaysia’s Independence Day, eve. Yes. I was listening to Litefm’s breakfast show (unwillingly as my dad insisted to have that channel tuned in to) and they were talking about what makes us unique as Malaysians. Well, they started mentioning how Malaysians like to say “la” in their sentences and I began to realize the word never fails to appear in daily conversations or even in MSN chats. It feels like the word “la” is already part of the proper grammar (well, it IS for Chinese Grammar) and obviously sounds right and well-integrated in Malaysian’s conversations. Being a sort-of typical Malaysian, I picked up the habit of saying “la” too! In fact, way too extemporaneously and often that you probably think I’m exaggerating already. But no, I made an effort not to write it in here. It is a bad habit I think I have to get rid off. Maybe going to the States will help a lot. :)

If you hadn’t realized, this word “la” has also evolved in time. The whole idea of evolution is something like how human evolves from apes. It is really hilarious when you come to think of it as I have heard people say a variety of words containing similar meaning as “la” and methods of usage are the same too! Ex. “lor” (or if you prefer, more “r”s at the end) “lal” “le” “ma” (or if you prefer, an “r” or more at the end) etc.
In fact, if you were to exempt all these so to say Manglish way of speaking, instead, speak like a proper person in this country, people might turn around and call you a serious or unfriendly person. Oh yes, I feel that too when I first make an acquaintance of any person who speaks without a single “la” in his slash her sentences. :/

Don’t you even think saying “la” only applies to Chinese. You can totally see the concept of 1Malaysia in just the habit of saying “la” as all races in Malaysia do, say “la” as if it is just another normal word they think they should include when speaking to another. In a bigger picture, foreign students I mix with in college, picked up this unique way of conversing too! I have a friend from Zimbabwe, whose name is Princess (don’t ask me why or how but their names will blow your minds off), speaks like a true Malaysian. If you were to talk to her through the internet chat rooms with no clue of her nationality, you would say she’s definitely a Malaysian. Also, my brother who is in the States now claims that some of the White people in America find including “la” in their conversation interesting that they too, begin doing that on purpose when they converse, hoping one day, they can say “la” effortlessly. So what I am trying to say is that, as long as there’s a place where there is the presence of a Malaysian, the culture of saying “la” REMAINS because saying “la” is INFECTIOUS! :D
Did I also mention that Malaysians are rather proud of the “la” culture? Yes they are! :D
Peace Out!

Happy Independence Day, Malaysia!

Love, EvelynLee.

Vampires SUCK!

Vampires suck? Oh hell yes they do.

It feels like the Hannah Montana, Disney era is over before it has even win over the hearts of more youngsters world wide. Not like I think Hannah Montana is cool, but the classic Disney cartoons such as Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid, beat Hannah Montana a thousand times! Okay, I’m drifting. Sorry about that.

This new wave of era – nothing but Justin Bieber and Vampires! Come on! Justin Bieber? No offence but the person who threw that bottle towards him rocked socks! About vampires? They are utterly ridiculous and shitty! Overrated. Try walking into a bookstore and you’ll find these vampire story books dominating the whole section of Young Adults. Gives me the creeps. Has anyone seen Twilight movie and the sequels of it? I’m sure many did. They sucked. Really. Even scrutinizing how an old man walks is more interesting than watching those crappy movies. Yeah I read all four books. The first book was okay, fairly decent. It makes you fantasize with the little little romance in it. God… the next three books murdered me. Not only the story sucks, the little little romance were such turn off. I was disgusted. Yes. So ask me why did I even bother reading New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn? My friend lent me those and I was only curious to know how severe desperation was pushing Stephanie Meyers to the completion of her sucky vampire story. Previously, I was watching the Teen Choice Awards and this romance vampire franchise totally dominated the event! I was livid, fuming, furious, while constantly muttering “Overrated” under my breath. This went on for quite a while till I finally couldn’t take the stress anymore that I turned off the television and stomped off. I was pissed. Definitely.

I was notified about this parody of Twilight Saga through Nuffnang. They were then, giving out free screening tickets for Vampires Suck, only if you write interesting enough blog post about how vampires suck and Nuffnang likes it! I should probably stop saying how Justin wrote in and won it and brought me with him but that was how I got to go. Thank you heaps.

Keyart

The movie was actually not that hilarious. Just another lousy parody of the original movie. Not a big fan. What I like most is that I can actually go, “ Ha! IN YOUR FACE!” to all Twilight fans and also Stephanie Meyers. Yes I do.

VAMPIRES SUCK VAMPIRES SUCK VAMPIRES SUCK

The Expandables.

Love The Way You Lie - Eminem

Okay. I initially wrote in to Nuffnang to see if I get lucky and win a pair of free passes to this special screening of the new movie – The Expandables, but didn't succeed. Justin got it and brought me along. Cheers!
.

Woke up in the morning feeling totally crappy. Squinted at my white wrist watch, the shorter needle pointed at 10 while the longer one stroke 12. I pulled myself up to a sitting posture just to find myself seeing stars while my vision blacked out for a moment. My head was spinning like crazy till when every thing was back to normal, my left brain starts hurting like hell. I was like, “Crap. Migraine at this time?” So yeah, I had migraine for the entire day. Totally sucking the energy out of me. I found that I don’t even have the energy to talk much.
It was a gloomy day, though the temperature of the atmosphere was heating up so much. It felt like we were in some volcanic zone while some where in a few miles away, there is some volcanic eruption. Sucks.

So, dinner at The Garden at Curve. Well, first time to that restaurant. One look at it, that restaurant was definitely inspired by a romantic garden concept where there were fake flower decorations in almost every corner and an overall white concept. The white grand especially enhance the exuded tranquility of the cafe. Alright. What I was trying to say was good atmosphere, love the environmental-friendly ambience of it.

In the meanwhile, the food wasn’t up to its standard. Not nice. Ordinary. I would suggest other places if food is your main aim, Garden if romance is your main reason. :)

Many will say, “Owh… Its a guy movie. Lots of actions.” But frankly speaking, I adored it. Hell yeah I have quite an amount of testosterone in me too! Maybe it is not normal for a girl to say stuffs like that but I have to admit, they’ve got style. The way they hold their guns, the way they kill, the way they punch et cetera, style is what they have.

Though I am not a gun expert, I thought I saw Jason Statham holding a cool gun somewhat like the one Josh Duhamel was holding in Transformers. I just thought I might want to mention it here. Same technology! No, I didn’t include the super advanced rifle Terry Crews was holding. Cool beans. Can totally blow a person’s body into pieces with one bullet. Nicely choreographed action scenes.
Unless the projectionist made a mistake in the settings, this was one of the loudest movies I have ever seen. Even a small knife throw sounded like a small explosion. What more a real big ass explosion? Felt like my ear drums was exploding on each side of my ears.
Besides, there were a couple of scenes where the camera placement wasn’t at all perfect. Like the one where Jet Li was fighting and getting bashed up at the same time, it was rather chaotic and hence, the action was not quite well-delivered.
Despite the negative comments, I still love how the random jokes and people came popping out in the middle of each scene. Like the one where Arnold Schwarznegger and Bruce Willis made their random appearance, I couldn’t stop laughing. I didn’t expect so much humor in this pre-perceived as a group of gung ho fighters geared up for some action-packed mission. Thumbs up!
.

Had trouble sleeping that night. Adrenaline gushing through me. Thank God my sister wasn’t sleeping beside me that day. I woke up in the morning to realize I was tangled up in the blanket. None left at my sister’s side. Not my usual being. :D

Love, EvelynLee.

Hola!

Firstly, a million times of apologies for the lousy picture quality you will see in the latter. Wasn’t expecting a trip to the hospital will drag on and lead us to many many other interesting places and hence, the stupidity for not bringing the camera along. Secondly, enjoyyy~

7th August, 2010.

So, at night, my aunt and uncle brought us for some really delicious ramen at the Meritus Mandarin – Ippudo Ramen. Definitely a long cue just to get seated in that restaurant at the Mandarin Gallery. That was how popular it is. I would say the ramen is definitely one of a kind, more delicious than normal ramen in some other ordinary shop but the price is certainly beautiful too. I would recommend that place to you only if you are celebrating something special and not just for an ordinary dine out kind of occasion. Unless your wallet is full, you may. Thank you. We got ourselves a place to our own in the only private room of the restaurant with one condition – spend a minimum of $32 per pax. My generous handsome uncle agreed to that without further hesitation for a detour from the long wait for a normal sitting. The appetizers were as nice as everything they served throughout the night. I especially like the chocolate cake for dessert. So rich, so delicious. Nyomnyomnyom… :D
We were chattering joyously in that private space that we were shocked enough to find that they were already preparing to close down the place when we stepped out of the room. That explains the two awkward occasions of the waiters lifting up the (door curtain) and peeping in as if the check on us besides having them bring the bill to us without the need to summon them

After the incredibly heavy dinner, we were brought to the so called most happening place in Singapore – Dempsey Hill to chill and relax. According to my uncle, which then confirmed by Google searching, that place used to be the headquarters of the Military of Defense of the country and therefore the small alley to Dempsey itself is called the MinDef road. As the car glided swiftly through and came to the end of the dark path with barely any visible street lights, a glimpse of small dim light bulbs came to greet our sight. There were restaurants, bars, places for young adults to hang out at night after long hours of work in the day, or even for weekends gatherings. Situated in the midst of lush greenery, it is indeed, very hard to associate the resort-like ambience that shapes the current Dempsey Hill, with the discipline and regiment of the military in the olden times. Unleashing waves of relaxed and laid back vibe, Dempsey is, in fact, the perfect hang out spot.

We came to a place called CMPB – Contemporary Melting-Pot & Bar, had a seat and started drinking some white wines.
0708201059107082010592 Tried two different white wines from New Zealand, followed by another from Australia. The one from NZ was a Cloudy Bay, 2004 with a 11.5% alcohol content, while that of Aussie’s was a Chandonnay, 2008, which alcohol content I’m not so sure of.

07082010597 Cloudy Bay had a rather sweet taste to it and is more suitable for ladies while Chandonnay had some acidic nature but still, is lighter compared to red wines.
07082010595 Overall, both tasted decent. Me like. Me adore. :)
What puzzles me is that both my parents’ and my sister’s faces turned red while mine remained normal after drinking. I thought, I’m good! Heh…

Returned home at about one o’clock in the morning. Time for bed! Zonked out the minute my head was rested on the pillow. A good night sleep with some ultimately weird dreams though. Toodles~

Lovely,

Absolute chemistry.

I am currently not listening to any song when blogging for the first time in so many posts. But the soundtrack of the Korean drama series - My Fair Lady has been on replay mode in my mind since 8.30pm last night when the movie started. Yeap. 8TV was showing it all these while and yesterday was the last episode of it. It was rather sad seeing two people who are deeply in love with each other cannot be together though they still had a happy ending.

사랑해... ♥

.

It was yet, another day out with Justin. Well, I would say I was being a "gentlelady" for accompanying him. Long story short, he had to send his sister to tuition and had to wait a few hours till her tuition ends. Since I was nearby... bla bla bla... you should know what happens next...
Strolled around the mall, hung out at Border's and Starbucks. Pretty laid back and casual, which is what I like best. Oh its back to Taylor Swift, the goddess of modern fairytale and her songs. She's just awesome you know? The lyrics just make sense. Anyway, something happened besides him scaring the hell out of me by creeping up on me quietly from behind. *smacks Justin*
My heart is still bobbing furiously beneath my chest when I recall the whole situation. Its so mind-blogging in a way. I think this feeling is not going to fade away anytime soon. At least, it persists, even after waking up from a good night sleep this morning. Cares heck about what I feel, what goes around comes around. But, I really do love yesterday. ♥

Little note : I got my FREE HP netbook this morning, thanks to TM. Cool beans... :)
Little note II : Today is one boring day. Tomorrow should be a better day. :)
Little note III : Should I play the piano again? I'm freaking bored... :)
Little note IV : I can't wait to watch SALT! :)

you are the reason why I love you
so don't try any harder...

Lovely

Internet ftw :)

Kissin You - Miranda Cosgrove

I switched my streamyx to the COOL UNI PACK.

Apparently, this is the best deal streamyx has got to offer apart from being only available to first and second year university students and contract period of only two years. As for the netbook, it has only an atom processor, so it ain't the cream of the crop but hey, cheaper price for extra goodies! Ain't that the best deal ever? :D
.

Anyways,
its a long story from how I got to know about it to the day I got my internet connection back.
The point is, some idiot went to terminate my existing internet attached to my home's subline before this new streamyx attached to my home's mainline is activated. In other words, I initially DO NOT need to suffer from the no-internet-days like how the other applicants had to.
Geez, thanks to that IQ-below-average person who terminated my internet account, I suffered quite a lot.
But, thanks to him, I got almost a 100% concentration for my finals.
So, after almost a month without any internet connection, after making calls exceeding ten times to TM to complain, after having the kind installer to come and check on the stability of the ADSL line (which is not and that's why he can't do heck about it), after having the technician to check on the instruments out there at one of the tall poles, the internet is finally back.
The anxiety and high hopes invested in the early anticipation period eventually faded to a mild and an utterly trivial problem, which means I was almost immune to the effects of no internet.
,

On Wednesday,
as I was pampering myself by watching Korean drama series and munching some snacks, the doorbell rang and it was the technician. Soon after he left, the installer came to install and activate my streamyx. Everything happened so quickly in the blink of an eye. I was flabbergasted when I was told that everything was back to normal and I can use the internet again (I made a wish the previous day at 11.11am that I would be happy enough to get my internet back by the beginning of the new semester). Right now, I'm paying RM68 for 1Mbps, plus, the free Wi-Fi modem that they promised. Soon after, they will mail the free netbook by courier. How's that? Life's great all of a sudden.
Hence, I guess this explains the long hiatus from blogging. :)
Grey clouds are gone, blew away by the wind, replaced with white ones, complimenting the sunny blue sky. Something about a sunny day, keeping the clouds away. Oh, how I love how metaphors insinuate things

&because you make me feel like living and dying at the same time.
That's bliss. That's love.

FIFA? I know. But I don't seem to have the energy to stay up late for those highly anticipated matches. Its late at night and I need my beauty sleep. (:
I used to watch many matches for the past seasons, albeit not supporting any of the countries at all. Hey... I witnessed Zinedine Zidane's historical heat-butt moment kay?
You must be wondering why am I so frivolous, watching football when I am not supporting no one. Well, the main reason was to shout goal when someone scores one. :D It is fun, at least to me.
The previous match of US vs UK was an utter disappointment. I guess many out there rooted for UK. Well, at least I was interested in knowing the end result of the match. Alas, it was a draw -.-
Another epic match of Germany vs Australia inevitably became a laughing stock. 4-0 with Germany emerging as the winner. Aussie, back your bags and return to homeland for more practices. (:

My friend once said that football is a stupid game; men with balls chasing after a ball. That's a rather rude way to say something about such game when it has won over the hearts of many. Well, I guess you can't please everybody with one thing. :D

I should be going to class now. Till then~

Love, EvelynLee.
